KushJar.com is an online multimedia, entertainment news outlet that focuses on topics such as music, fashion,models, sports, and movies. The site was launched as strictly an interview based site by hip hop guru, Michael Bentley.
Michael Bentley has since merged the company with internet start up company, S.S.U.G.
Michael Bentley is the vice-president and head of A&R at Hoopla Worldwide. Hoopla Worldwide has been mentioned as a “media mammoth” by several different online sources.
KushJar still has a giant focus on interviews, but there is now several different things to see while visiting.
The site is updated as a news site, and keeps content fresh with 22 writers aboard. The NFL, NBA, and MLB are all hot topics on the site. The famous basketball scout and writer, Catfish Hughes, has published articles with KushJar, and he is doing live updates for through-out the 2013 NBA playoffs. Catfish Hughes has a great outlook on the game, and his articles have gained him national media attention over the past two years.
Bentley has stated that he is going to keep the main focus of the site to be music.
“Breaking new artists, helping unsigned and independent artists get major attention has always been a goal for Kush Jar.” Bentley added over the phone.
“KushJar does want to add politics in the future, and we have a liberal approach. The internet is the future of news and the news median, we are apart of that future. 2013 should be a giant year for us.” Bentley added, “Kush Jar is one of my person projects, it won’t be saturated with ads or ad driven at all, and I can say that the material will always be interesting and unique.”
